I have to admit it, that when I first moved here with my family in 2002.
The first thing that came to my mind was; what is there to do here?
Riobamba seems just like any other little town; Green. Quite. Peaceful. Boring:(
And I thought, Riobamba doesn't seem to be like the kind of place were anything exciting (other than mountain climbing) could possibly happen, Right?
Wrong. Very wrong:)
Over the past ten years I have come to find that not only were there many fun thing to do for the whole family in Riobamba.
The thing with Riobamba is that most of these attraction were almost "hidden" .
But don't worry, I have tracked down every last one of these spectacular places and made list for you and your family to enjoy on your Riobamba vacation!
There are many things to do in Riobamba, for example, the broad streets of Riobamba and the colonial style-buildings make Riobamba a picture perfect city to explore by foot and take plenty of photos.

Finally...El Paseo Shopping, Riobamba's first mall! A great way to spend time the whole family. Eat, shop for clothes or groceries, watch a movie, you name it! Fun for everyone. You can spend the whole day here with your family. The biggest shopping center in the Sierra. Its Grand Opening was July 29 2012.As you can imagine the parking lot was PACKED! This town is constantly having festivals and holiday parades! That one of the great thing about living in Riobamba! Most months have at least one major festival or long weekends.
